Assam: Akhil Gogoi seeks Rs 100 crore to develop historic Sivasagar

Peasant leaderAkhil Gogoihas raised the demand for a package of Rs 100 crore to transform historicSivasagarinto a tourism and cultural hub.

The Sivasagar MLA and Raijor Dal president said the of Rs 100 crore can give a return of Rs 1,000 crore to the State Government.

Alongwith numerous Ahom-era monuments, the pyramid-style graveyards of Ahom kings and queens have drawn researchers from abroad to the district. Akhil pointed out the importance of these sites, saying the cremation techniques in thesemaidamsor graveyards is comparable with those adopted in the pyramids in Egypt.

Mithali Raj Became the Highest Run-Getter

India captain Mithali Raj grew to become the highest run-getter in womens cricket across formats, overtaking former England skipper Charlotte Edwards.

Indian Army Inducts Bridging System by DRDO

The Army inducted the first manufacturing lot of 12 Short Span Bridging System (SSBS)-10m, designed and developed through the DEFENCE Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in affiliation with Larsen & Toubro Limited, the manufacturing agency. The SSBS-10m plays an indispensable position of bridging the gaps up to 9.5m as a single span sup plying a 4m wide, entirely decked roadway, ensuring quicker motion of the troops.

The bridging system is compatible with the Sarvatra bridging machine (75 m), the place the closing span required covering gaps less than 9.5 m.

The DRDO has developed a vary of bridges for the Army that have already been inducted.

Export of Mirshi Cherry Exported to Dubai

Bamboo Oasis on Lands in Drought – BOLD

The Bamboo Oasis on Lands in Drought (BOLD) project is launched.

About Project BOLD:

It is a KVIC project that was launched with the goals of reducing as well as providing livelihood and multi-disciplinary rural Industry support.

It was first introduced in the tribal village of Nichla Mandwa in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

Over 25 bighas (16 acres) of vacant arid Gram Panchayat land, 5000 saplings of special bamboo species Bambusa Tulda and Bambusa Polymorpha brought from Assam were planted.

Project BOLD aims to establish bamboo-based green patches in arid and semi-arid areas.

By August of this year, KVIC plans to replicate the project in Village Dholera in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad district and the Leh-Ladakh region.

PM Inaugurates the CoWin Global Conclave

The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and addressed the CoWin Global Conclave, virtually. The world meeting was participated by way of representatives from 142 countries.

The Conclave was mutually geared up through the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and National Health Authority (NHA) with a goal to extend the Co-WIN platform as a digital public good to the globe.

India has supplied its indigenously developed cloud-based CoWIN platform to be made open-source so that it is on hand to any and all countries.

World Chocolate Day – 7th July

World Chocolate Day is observed on 7th July every year. Chocolate day celebrates the existence of chocolate in our lives. The day is marked by eating chocolates and sharing the chocolates with dear ones.
