Call for comprehensive study of Siu-Ka-Pha’s policies
The Ahom community is the most influential community in the world and this is because of the ideal of harmony practised and preached by Chaolung Siu-Ka-Pha, the Tai prince from Mong Mao, who established the Ahom Kingdom at Charaideo after travelling thousands of kilometres from Yunnan province.
Referring to Siu-Ka-Pha as an ideal personality of integrity, Sonowal said the “Act East” policy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is based upon the policies of Siu-Ka-Pha towards the south-east Asian countries.
The Ahom community observes the Me-Dam-Me-Phi, one of their most sacred rituals every year. It is celebrated to manifest the rich Ahom legacy and spread the ideologies and contributions of Swargadeo Chaulung Siu-Ka-Pha among the young generations. The community members on the occasion, offer prayers in memory of their forefathers with traditional fanfare.
